Hillside Teachers College

Hillside Teachers' College is a government teacher training institution located in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, operating from one main campus in the Hillside suburb. Established in 1956 at Heany Junction before relocating to its current site in 1962, the college has a proud history of more than six decades in preparing professional educators. Hillside was the first institution in Zimbabwe to receive Associate status with the University of Zimbabwe and pioneered the training of Post-A-Level pre-service secondary school teachers. The college offers teacher education programmes in areas including languages, STEM, practical subjects, and other specialised fields, with a strong focus on pedagogy, curriculum development, and teaching practice. Guided by its motto, "We Learn in Order to Teach," Hillside Teachers' College continues to produce competent, innovative, and dedicated educators who contribute to the advancement of Zimbabwe's education sector.
