Zimbabwe School of Mines (ZSM) is a specialised tertiary education institution located in Killarney, Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, dedicated to developing skilled professionals for the mining industry in Zimbabwe and the wider SADC region. Established in 1926, the institution has nearly a century of experience in mining education and operates under a Presidential Charter to provide competency-based training. ZSM operates from its main campus in Bulawayo and offers National Diploma, Higher National Diploma, distance learning, and short-course programmes in key mining disciplines including Mining Engineering, Mining Geology, Mine Surveying, Metallurgical Engineering, Mine Ventilation, Environmental Engineering, and Mine Management. With a strong emphasis on practical learning through industry placements, laboratory work, and field experience, the school continues to produce highly skilled mining practitioners who contribute to mineral development, innovation, and economic growth in Zimbabwe and beyond.
